    How it works

TriMix is a compounded injectable that combines three vasoactive medications — typically alprostadil, papaverine, and phentolamine. Delivered as a small injection directly into the side of the penis, it relaxes smooth muscle and dramatically increases blood flow, producing a reliable erection within 5–20 minutes. Because it acts locally rather than through the bloodstream, TriMix works independently of arousal and is effective even when oral PDE5 inhibitors (like sildenafil or tadalafil) haven't worked — including for men with diabetes, vascular disease, or a history of prostatectomy.

    Dosing

TriMix is self-administered as a small injection 15–30 minutes before sexual activity. It should not be used more than once in a 24-hour period or more than three times per week. Your provider will start you on a conservative dose and gradually adjust it based on your response. We provide detailed injection instructions, ultra-fine needles, and all necessary supplies. Each 5 mL vial contains up to 10 doses at the maximum prescribed dose of 0.50 mL. Because treatment begins at a low dose and is gradually titrated, many patients will have medication remaining at the end of the month. To help maintain sterility, any unused medication should be discarded 28 days after the vial is first punctured, even if medication remains.

    Possible side effects

    • Mild pain or burning at the injection site
    • Minor bruising
    • Prolonged erection
    • Penile fibrosis (with misuse/overuse)

The most serious risk is priapism — an erection lasting longer than 4 hours. This is a medical emergency that requires immediate care. Proper dosing and injection technique substantially reduce this risk. Do not use TriMix if you have sickle cell disease, severe cardiovascular disease, or a known penile deformity.
